A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia,1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §61-11-9a, relating to removing the statute of limitations on any misdemeanor which involves a child under 18 years of age.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:


ARTICLE 11. GENERAL PROVISIONS CONCERNING CRIMES.


§61-11-9a. Limitation of prosecution of a crime involving a child.

There is no limitation to a prosecution if the crime involved a child under the age of 18 years even if the crime is a misdemeanor.

 

NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to remove the statute of limitations on any misdemeanor which involves a child under 18 years of age.
